A Major Milestone!


Well, it's official.  All the accounts have cleared and all our credit cards are paid in full!!!!  These last two were business expenses and I'm thrilled for them to be gone!  We have NEVER EVER in our entire 15 years of marriage, and probably before that, been completely credit card debt free!!!
All total, we paid off $51,396.00 from when I started tracking it in 2006!  The last two were a credit union card for $1531 and a business visa for $499.  Gone forEVER!!!

This isn't the official debt free scream, though.  I'm working on one more computer loan and two cars, but still this is HUGE for me!

Christmas is Always in December!

Are you ready?  Did you plan this year ahead of time?  Did you save up?  Or is "planning" using a credit card and paying it off for the next year. How To Give Your Budget A Kick In The Pants

Multi-Tasking Doing things step by step is a good idea.  We follow Dave Ramsey's principals.  It keeps you focused on one single goal.  Multi-tasking is not my forte, so I've learned to do one thing well and when it is finished move on to the next thing. In life, this doesn't always work.  With three kids, sometimes I need to do three things at once.  Usually no one gets my full attention and nothing is completed quickly or accurately.  Sometimes I don't even hear what they say.  So to focus on one child at a time while the other two wait, works much better for me. Even in cooking when the rice needs to cook while the chicken is baking and the veggies need to be steamed, I usually get two of the three done and we end up waiting for the third thing to finish cooking.  Our home budget had been humming along in slow mode.  Small deposits going into multiple tiny sinking funds, for future purchases: Christmas, auto repairs, animals, accountant, insurance.  Nothing

Christmas is Almost Here!

Well, the kidlets are out of school for two whole weeks!  I'm finishing up the last of the shopping online.  One down, one to go.  DS last present is the only thing left to buy! The week had its ups and downs with spending.  I didn't actually budget for any lunches out, but I ended up spending quite a bit in that department.  I should just plan for a few "running around town, need a bite" type meals.  Although after a fun afternoon yesterday with friends at MickeyD's, I did manage to get me and all the kids to eat at home today and we had frozen pizza for dinner last night too.  I warmed up pizza for them to eat in the car between softball practices.  That saved me at least $20+.  Now all the kids and two friends are running around outside while I finish the online shopping and balance the checkbooks.  So nice they aren't being lazy all afternoon watching tv!  Love it! Been planning the last payoff of a computer loan.  Looking forward to bidding that adeiu!
